Carlos Torano Vault P-044 Robusto Cigar Review – This 5×50 stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap, an oily slight tooth and faint musty aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with too much tobacco stuffed in the head. Getting some decent smoke out with a bit of work, it showed a medium-full body of a zingy, metallic earth with a pepper kick and slight spice on the fairly short finish. The first third keeps the same overall profile however the draw is also still spotty. At times it goes hot and loose, with the whole cigar going hot and mushy to the touch with less than 1″ burned. The 1/2 way point comes at 25 minutes holding the ash in a solid chunk. Draw quality and flavors continue to waffle going between a mild nothing and a medium zingy plumb, light earth and medium pepper with a short clean finish. Ending at 50 minutes where the nub got too hot for my taste, the draw finally turned normal, keeping the same flavor profile.
