Tabacos Baez Serie H Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 stick features a dark tan dry thin wrapper with a few small veins, tight pack, triple cap, tight seams and a rich nutmeg and spice aroma. First light reveals a good raw with plentiful smoke output giving medium bodied flavors of an earth core and potpourri/gingerbread/nutmeg flavors holding through the long finish. It’s not especially smooth, there’s a bit of bite to the smoke but it’s not rough in the throat. The first third burns slowly taking 1/2 an hour to finish up. Flavors quickly drop the spice and move to an earthy, burned caramel, a very deep flavor profile. The finish is long with the same flavors, keeping the bit of sharp bite. The 2nd third morphs just slightly, taking a lighter note shifting to a general sweetness to the earthy core, losing the bit of roughness and leaving a creamy oily slick in the mouth. Ending at 1:25 the last bit showed no further changes.
