Toro Y Leon Habano Claro Elegancia Cigar Review
This 7.25×35 cigar features a dark brown paper bag colored wrapper with a dry slightly tooth firm feel, triple cap, minimal veins, tight invisible seams and a mild pepper and tobacco aroma. First light reveals a very snug draw with minimal smoke output, a slightly bitter oily tobacco taste with a short clean finish. The first third opens up the draw nicely giving very good smoke output, also dropping the bitterness just hitting with an oily tobacco taste. There’s a bit of pepper zing that carries through the finish giving a bit of a bite on the lips, and it’s getting longer. The burn is very good and the ash holds on for an inch a time, very light and loose. 35 minutes in just past the 1/2 way point, the draw has opened up and is perfect with plumes of rich smoke. Body is up to medium-full with the same core flavors but adding a cream flavor and texture, especially to the finish. Ending at the 1 hour mark down to the very nub, it stayed nice and cool, continuing the same perfect performance with the same flavor profile through the 2nd half. Thank you very much to Toro Y Leon for sending this for review!
