La Herencia Cubana Core Robusto Cigar Review

This 5×52 box pressed stick features a silky soft mottled dark chocolate wrapper with smooth edges, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and rich oily barnyard aroma. First light reveals a full body flavor profile od earth, bitter chocolate and a short clean finish with a perfect draw and thick smoke output. The first third moves to just a core of a deep substantial medium-full body earth, with a gritty smoke and long finish. The 2nd third adds in a touch of strength plus a nice cream to the mix. Ending at 1:15 the last third brings a soft sweet cocoa in to the mix, rounding out the creamy texture nicely. Thank you very much to viewer Kris McKinney for generously providing this for review (sorry for mis-pronouncing your name in the vid)!

Nice review as always. I just picked up 2 of these Monday so now I’m excited to smoke them.

I really enjoy the Oscuro Fuerte and have been thinking about getting a box of the Core to check out. Great review Bryan and i will be getting that box!

Another great review Bryan. I was just wondering, do you like to do your reviews at Dawn because you figure that Damn Rooster is going to wake you up any way? LOL

I enjoyed a La Herencia Cubana Core Toro after letting it sit in the humidor for 2 months. I like the somewhat rectangular box pressed shape. Other than some uneven burn issues it’s a smooth medium strength cigar that lasted an hour and a half, being smooth to 2″ from the nub.

Your not wrong there mate. I picked up a box of the Core in Toro and another box in the Robusto and I have not been disappointed.

Fantastic smokes, both of them. I believe they will be another cigar that will always be kept well stocked and very welcome in my humidors.

I do like this cigar, but then again I like everything AJ. Fernandez blends.

        Nice review.

Is agree A.J. has some great blends

  • Brandonsr81

Can’t wait to try this blend, just order a 10 pack.

Just received my 10 pack and tried one, I got to say it was a great lil stick. Reminded me of the Diesel line.

I am smoking the Churchill version of the “core” right now. Another homerun for Mr AJ Fenandez. This guy does it right. Only about an inch in after 20 minutes. Good thing I’ve got nothin to do today but smoke drink and maybe smoke a lil more. Cuz this is gonna be a good two hour stick. I think these go for around $10 a stick. Gotta luv those CI deals or I would never had tried this. Anyway. Great review

WOW, Im smoking 1 of these in Toro size that came in the Delicious Dozen Sampler, its great.! I like it better than the Cohiba that came with it and almost as good as the Ave Maria that came with it also.

    • Greg Lyons

I too purchased that very same sampler and was surprised how much flavor and balance the Core had. Perfect burn and enjoyed it to the nub.

  • Buffalo Trace

,,,and I really liked the rectangle box press, the 1st Ive had.
