This 5.5×54 stick features an almost black wrapper with a firm pack, medium veins, tight seams, large double cap, oily slightly toothy feel and faint musty hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with copious amounts of near full bodied thick smoke showing a musty damp earth with a bit of sweetness followed by a zingy pepper and oily spice on a long finish. The first third comes down to a medium body and flavors shift to a tobacco and deep zingy earth combo both on the draw and finish, giving me the impression of a lot of ligero in the mix. Smoke output thinned out a bit and it’s got a bite building. The half way point comes at a fairly quick 20 minutes with flavors intensifying to near full body again, shifting to a big pepper and earth bomb packing a big bite. Ending just under an hour the last third brings a big warm nuttiness on the draw and the strength builds to a medium. Thank you to Eli Farmer for sending this to review!
