Amilcar Perez Castro Robusto Cigar Review
This 5×50 stick features an oily almost black smooth wrapper with a very firm even pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, nice triple cap and musty hay aroma. First light reveals a full bodied slightly sweet chocolate pepper and tobacco with a slight bitterness on the finish. The first third burns fairly slowly with great smoke output and a perfect draw. Draw flavors are medium-full bodied with a slightly sweet tangy earth, going to a long smooth finish adding a bit of pepper tingle. The 2nd third burns a bit inconsistently, going from great smoke and flavor to hardly any at all. The burn is a bit wonky needing a large touchup but not improving performance. By the start of the last third smoke production was back to excellent and the flavors have gone to just a big damp musty earth with a very heavy after taste. Ending at 55 minutes the last third showed no further changes, going very hot at the last inch. Thank you very much to viewer Thomas Long for sending this one in!
