CAO Last Stick Standing: O Cigar Review
This is the third cigar of a special tri-pack available free through select CAO retailers with the purchase of any other 6 CAO cigars. The purpose is to smoke each of these new blends then rate them online, and enter a drawing to win cigars or a trip. I have been asked to provide a video for the website, and this will also be part of that video, along with an added segment where I actually voice my opinion after having all three, and cast my votes. It’s a 5.5×56 (approximate) cigar featuring a dark brown slightly toothy felt like wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a double cap, slightly spongy crunchy give and rich oily damp earth aroma. First light reveals a very loose draw with tons of smoke output just like the other two samples. Flavors are near full body with rich sweet peppery earth holding through the long finish. The first third develops much the same, staying near full body with bright zingy flavors joined by a smooth creaminess. 40 minutes in at the 1/2 way point it’s performance is still going unchanged. The ash held on for the full first half, falling in a solid chunk. The last third starts at just over the hour mark completely shifting flavors to a caramel sweetness and very rich creamy coffee, still near full body with a long finish. Ending at 1:15 with about an inch left, it got too hot for my taste, actually bringing in some of the zingy spearmint like flavors I found near the ends of the other two blends.
