Blackbird Limited Edition Macaw Cigar Review – This 5 1/8×58 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a firm pack, buttery soft oily feel and a double pigtailed cap with a slight musty cocoa aroma. First light reveals a flawless draw with plumes of thick rich medium-full bodied smoke with a building deep dark earth, heavy but not textured pepper and building vanilla spice on the long finish. The first third burns very slowly with perfect construction, down a tick to medium body with notes completely shifting to a slightly sweet cocoa and robust rich leather that carries through the finish with just a hint of pepper and spice on the tongue. The 1/2 way point comes just under an hour in with still perfect construction and the same rich flavors. Ending at 1:45 the last third mellowed a bit dropping the pepper and spice with the leather fading a bit to a deep earth, keeping the slightly sweet cocoa.
