Victor Calvo US Shade Reserve Spencer Cigar Review – This 5.5×50 stick features a dark tan lightly but evenly packed wrapper with a buttery feel, small veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and pungent sweet cedar aroma. First light reveals a slightly loose draw with plentiful medium-full bodied flavors of a sweet apricot, light earth, cocoa and hint of pepper just coming through on the finish. The first third smokes perfectly dropping ash over an inch long with slight changes to flavors. The fruitiness drops just going to a prominent sweet cocoa and light earth on the draw with a hint of pepper while a sweet spice builds through the finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 30 minutes the 2nd third drops the sweetness going to a deeper earth and more intense cocoa on the draw while the spice is also subdued through the long finish. Ending at 55 minutes the only change in the last third was a mild-medium strength joining in.
