Gurkha Vintage Shaggy Imperial Presidente Cigar Review – This 8.5×52 stick features a dark brown mottled wrapper with an oily satin feel, slightly soft pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, an inch long shaggy foot, double cap and a pungent musty damp aroma. First light reveals a loose draw with plentiful medium bodied smoke of a very bitter dry wood with a parched finish. The first third, after the burn reaches the wrapper, goes to a medium-full body with a slightly snug draw, more smoke, a dry leather and zingy neutral wood. 50 minutes in at the half way point, flavors are down to a medium body showing a dusty soft earth and wood combo sticking around on the finish with the same. The burn is good although the ash drops in short flaky 1″ chunks. Ending at 1:20 the last third opened the draw to normal, put off more smoke and burned faster. Flavors held the same with the end going warm and nutty.
