New World By AJ Fernandez Toro Cigar Review

This 6.5×55 box pressed stick features a dark brown oily slightly toothy wrapper with a soft pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and pungent chocolate and hay aroma. First light reveals a great draw with plumes of full bodied smoke showing a very potent deep tobacco and peppery earth with a long thick finish adding in some campfire and spice. The first third continues much the same just bringing in more pepper at first, then a big coffee and cocoa comes in on the draw 20 minutes later. The 1/2 way point comes at a leisurely 45 minutes, dropping most of the pepper and earth, gaining a nice cream to mix with the bolder cocoa and coffee. The finish stays creamy smooth and long with just the right amount of deep pepper sticking around. Ending at 1:20 the last third shifts to a very deep black espresso, dropping the coca, cream and most of the pepper leaving that deep roasted bean through the smooth finish. Thank you to AJ Fenandez Cigars for providing this sample for review!
