VegaFina Sumum Edicion Especial 2010 Cigar Review
This 5×54 cigar features a rich oily dark brown wrapper with a smooth firm feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and very pungent oily wood aroma. First light reveals a snug draw but with good smoke output giving a complex first batch of flavors. It’s creamy both in flavor and texture, a light musty tobacco, a bright light leather and a very thick chewy slick smoke especially on the short finish. The first third develops much the same way, bringing body to medium-full with a core of the light creamy sweet leather, adding a light cedar through the finish. 40 minutes in at the 1/2 way point the flavors have completely changed up. Now it’s quite deep with a core of an earthy wood and tobacco, still very smooth and slick, while the draw has opened up a touch and the finish has grown quite long. Ending at 1:05 minutes, the last third transitions again mixing the flavors of the first two almost evenly. Still deep and near full bodied, it has the leather back with a touch of sweet and tang at the same time, with a core of tobacco and wood along with the dry long finish. Thank you very much to Altadis for providing this sample for review!
