Fonseca Sun Grown Cedar No. 2 Cigar Review

This 6.5×52 stick offers a cedar wrapper for protection, under which is dark chocolate, thick and slightly toothy wrapper with small veins, tight seams and a tobacco and cocoa aroma. First light reveals an overwhelming cedar taste that almost takes your breath away. It is very smooth and mild bodied however, with a touch of sweetness that turns almost bitter on the finish. The first third develops the wood even more adding a touch of oily earth especially on the long finish. The body is approaching medium, smoke production is low, the burn and draw are perfect. The stick remains consistent to the 1 hour mark in the last third where it finishes with a big deep earth flavor and medium-full body. Smoke production rises, still staying oily and smooth. Ending at 1:20 it proved to be a very well constructed enjoyable smoke. Thank you very much to Jeremie Plouffe for generously sending this in for review!
