Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Cigar Review – This 6.25×54 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate very oily wrapper with a good bit of tooth, minimal veins, tight invisible seams and peppery chocolate aroma with a closed foot. First light reveals a perfect draw with full bodied blasts of complex flavors showing a slick smooth sweetness, earth, black pepper, dark chocolate and twang. The first third burns perfectly and slowly, keeping the near full body going to a musty neutral cocoa with a big thick oily pepper on the long full finish of the same. The 1/2 way point comes at 45 minutes dropping a solid 1/3 ash with flavors of a dark caramel, dusty chocolate and the pepper mellowing a bit through the still long oily finish. Ending at 1:20 the last third continued to burn perfectly with notes shifting to a deep smooth earth, dropping almost all the pepper and sweetness, with a matching strength creeping up.
