Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro Exclusivo Cigar Review – This 5.5×50 box pressed stick features a very dark chocolate, toothy, firmly packed satin wrapper with a very oily feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, single cap and a slight cedar and cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with thick rich full bodied plumes of smoke showing notes of a deep smooth earth, touch of black pepper, bakers cocoa and a dark roast coffee. The first third burns perfectly with a bright white ash, razor sharp line and flavors largely unchanged, adding a touch of mustiness to the finish and coming down to a medium-full body. The 1/2 way point comes at 40 minutes, dropping the cocoa while bringing the slightly sweet creamy coffee to the front. No pepper bite or spice, just a smooth long finish. Ending at 1:10 the last third swapped the dominating coffee back for a big cocoa keeping the slight sweetness and super smooth notes, back up to a full body with no strength.
