Don Lino 1989 Maduro Torpedo Cigar Review
This 6.5×52 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a very squishy pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams and a sweet chocolate aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plumes of plentiful medium bodied smoke showing flavors of a smooth light earth and wood with a fairly short finish of the same. The first third mellows a bit going even whispier with a slightly sweet earth core and a roasted nut coming in through the oily finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 40 minutes flavors shift by bringing the sweet nuttiness to the front and the light earth fades leaving a smooth longer finish. Ending at just over an hour, the last third changed the generic sweetness to a bit of a dark plum, mixing well with the nut. Construction was flawless all the way down. Thank you very much to Michael DeLorenzo for sending this in to review I greatly appreciate it!
