5 Vegas Cask-Strength Toro Cigar Review

This 6×52 box pressed stick features a glove soft slightly spongy packed dark brown and red hued wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap and rich dusty cocoa and cedar aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with good smoke output showing medium bodied flavors of a gritty very sweet tobacco with a long sweet finish. Nothing artificial, just a good strong amount lingering. The first third shows pretty much the same thing, just adding a very light soft earth to the finish. Burn is ok, going a bit wonky but not needing a touchup yet. By the 1/2 way point 40 minutes in however it did need a large touchup just to get the wrapper caught up with the filler. Flavors shifted somewhat dropping most of the sweetness in favor of the earth taking over the draw and a pepper dominating the finish although it’s on the smooth side. Finishing up at 1:20 the stick had a great burntime although continued the so-so burn, needing another touchup at the band to once again catch up the wrapper. In the last couple inches it got a little smoother with a deep earth and tobacco core punctuated by a bit of creme on the draw. Thank you very much to viewer Dexter Hicks for sending this sample in!
