Gurkha Ancient Warrior Presidente Cigar Review
This 8.5×52 (actual 8.25×52) stick features a dark chocolate wrapper with a dry slight tooth, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, firm pack, double cap and rich cocoa manure aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with good medium bodied smoke output showing a very dry tobacco and touch of sweetness just on the short finish. The first third holds the same flavor profile but gets pretty weak, down to a mild-medium body with thin whispy smoke. The burn line is just ok, with the filler going very fast and hot, already squishy to the 1/2 way point just 10 minutes in. The 2nd third burns much better after finding a slight hole in the wrapper near the cap that was causing a leak on the draw. Body is up to a medium with richer smoke but no more complex flavor. 55 minutes in at the 1/2 way point flavors finally shift, giving a deep coffee, cocoa and hint of cinnamon leaving a little tingle through the lengthening finish. Burning well and slow, the last third drops the cinnamon just leaving a smooth coffee and slight cocoa with excellent construction and no strength. Thank you very much to viewer Conrad Kaminski for providing me with this to review!
