Padron Serie 1926 No 1 Maduro Cigar Review

This 6.75×54 stick features a dark chocolate wrapper with a thick oily feel, firm pack, good bit of rough tooth, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, single cap and rich chocolate hay and tobacco aroma. First light reveals a loose draw with plenty of thick smoke output showing medium bodied flavors of a sweet earth with a smooth short clean finish. The first third shows typical Padron perfect construction with plumes of rich smoke, body remains at medium for now with a sweet syrupy thick coffee on the draw followed by a smooth bit of chocolate and pepper that builds through the finish adding a zing. Starting the 2nd third 25 minutes in, strength starts ramping way up, prompting me to go get some sugar to head it off. The draw flavors add a bit of deep earth, everything else remains the same. Hitting the 1/2 way point 45 minutes in, flavors remained about the same just mellowing together for a smoother less pronounced experience, with both body and strength holding at medium. Ending at 1:25 the last third went to a smooth deep earth and tobacco on the draw, dropping all the pepper and zing from the finish just leaving a very oily mouthfeel.
