Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Churchill Cigar Review
This 7.25×48 stick features a dark brown oily leather like wrapper with a firm pack, small veins, tight seams, double cap and sweet chocolate and hay aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with minimal smoke output, giving mild-medium flavors of a slightly sweet and oily tobacco with a long finish. The first third holds virtually the same, only bringing the body up to medium. Construction is very good with a straight burn and tight ash. 50 minutes in at the 1/2 way point, the ash fell off at the start of the 2nd third and the only shift has been the sweetness dropping off, going to a deep leather. Nearing the band point flavors shift slightly again, coming up to a medium-full body, dropping most of the leather and adding a bit of pepper. The tobacco flavors come to the front once again going very substantial and deep with a long finish. In the last third I feel the strength building up giving me quite a head rush but not overwhelming. Ending at 2 hours, flavors remain unchanged from the band point. Thank you very much to ‘kahoona’ for sending me this to review!
