Falto Seleccion Especial Corona Gorda Cigar Review
This 5.75×47 stick features a dark brown wrapper with a couple medium veins, firm smooth pack and feel, tight seams, double cap and a soapy tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw, minimal smoke output with mild-medium flavors of a slightly sweet tobacco with a dry mouthfeel but an oil on the lips through the short finish. The first third stays on the mild-medium side of things with a light airy smoke, very good burn and draw. Flavors are a peppery sweet earth, smooth and creamy textured with a deeper earthy finish that is growing longer, with a slight spice on the tongue. 30 minutes in near the 1/2 way point the 2nd third has had a bit of a wonky burn but hasn’t needed any kind of attention. Smoke output is very good, body is up to medium with a dry caramel and earth combo, pushing a very deep down in to your chest kind of warm earth finish. Ending at 1:10 the last third had a bit of a wrapper problem, exploding when I removed the band. Because of that the draw opened up, prompting more draws that normal to keep it lit, making it go soft and squishy for the last couple inches where I stopped. Flavor wise it was very similar at the end, just adding a bit of a metallic candy flavor, almost a licorice – but it was faint. Thank you very much to Falto Cigars for sending this for review, I do appreciate it!
