Diamond Crown Classic by J.C. Newman #4 Cigar Review – This 5.5×54 stick features a dark tan, buttery soft firmly packed wrapper with a large double cap and pungent, sweet hay and cocoa aroma. First light reveals a completely open draw with a perfect roll, requiring self-regulation of the draw. You are rewarded with huge thick plumes of medium-full bodied smoke with flavors of a deep sweet hay and building spice and pepper kick through the retro and finish. The first third burns perfectly and slowly, building the notes with the addition of a smooth slight coffee, with everything lasting through the long finish to the next draw. The 1/2 way point comes at 40 minutes with flavors more complex, adding a big leather to the mix especially on the finish. Ending at 1:15 the last third continued the flawless performance with notes going to a big dark roast coffee and deep leather with most of the spice trailing off, all with the same flawless performance to the nub.
