Don Doroteo El Alcalde Cigar Review – This 6.25×52 stick features a slightly oily, satin dark cocoa wrapper with a firm pack, torpedo tip and pungent sweet cocoa and hay aroma. First light reveals a flawless draw with rich thick medium bodied smoke showing notes of a slightly sweet leather, building through the finish with a spice and pepper heat to the next draw. The first third ramps up the musty leather note all through the draw in to the finish where it got smoother, dropping the bit of pepper and spice, adding a dark roast coffee after taste to the next draw. 1/2 way in at 35 minutes there’s a slight dark caramel added to the draw, otherwise still smooth, musty leather and espresso bean all on a long finish. Ending at 1:10 the last third brought up the body to medium-full with flawless performance while there was a slight strength joining in as well.
