La Mission L’atelier 2009 Cigar Review – This 6.5×56 stick features a dark cocoa, thick toothy firmly packed wrapper with a pigtailed triple cap and rich, deep cocoa and hay aroma. First light reveals a slightly firm draw with good thick medium-full bodied output showing flavors of a yeasty bread, nutmeg and cinnamon zing with a dark coffee and dark cocoa through the retro through the finish. The first third burns very slowly, adding a syrupy quality to the smoke, bringing up the chocolate notes, dropping the bread. The 1/2 way point comes at a low 50 minutes adding a deep but smooth earth to the mix especially through the finish. Everything is still syrupy, on the sweet side but not candy levels. A medium strength has been creeping in, giving a bit of head rush. Ending at 1:40 the last third held all the flavor and continued to ramp up the strength to medium-full, with perfect construction.
