Foundation The Wise Man Maduro Lancero Cigar Review – This 7.5×40 stick features a dark chocolate, oily, rough toothed dark cocoa wrapper with a firm pack, large double cap and faint peppery cocoa aroma. First light reveals a flawless draw with medium-full bodied thick rich smoke showing flavors of a deep rich cocoa and coffee with a building mild pepper and spice through the long finish. The first third burns perfectly dropping short ash, with flavors added to by a sweet umami note, all on a long finish. The 1/2 way point comes at 40 minutes with flavors changing slightly, dropping the umami, keeping the sweetness and adding a touch of cream to the cocoa and coffee, with the spice dropping off but keeping some of the pepper through the finish, behind the other notes. Ending at 1:10 the last third continued the complex blend to the hot nub.
