La Aurora Hors d’Age 2021 Cigar Review – This 6×54 limited release stick features a dense, dark brown satin wrapper with a firm even pack, large triple cap and rich, sweet must cocoa aroma. First light reveals a flawless draw with thick rich almost chewy smoke showing medium-full notes of a sweet umami, earth and pepper tingle through the finish which adds a bit of growing spice, with a warm retro. The first third continues the perfect performance with just the sweetness morphing in to a distinct caramel, mixing very well with all the other notes. The 1/2 way point comes at 30 minutes still with perfect burn and draw, dropping a solid ash with the same complex flavors and plentiful smoke. Ending at 1:25 the last third shifted to a deeper caramel with a pronounced zinginess and twang but light enough not to have the ashtray taste many do. Overall a complex but not too transitional stick with perfect burn to the nub.
