Freud Cigar Co. AlterEgo Robusto Cigar Review – This 5×50 stick features a dark cocoa, oily, firmly packed thick wrapper with a large double cap and damp, cocoa and cigar factory aroma. First light reveals a flaw less draw with thick smooth medium-full bodied smoke showing notes of a forward earth, slight fruity sweetness and long finish of the same with a bit of warmth and depth on the retro but no bite. The first third wakes up with quite a bit more complexity bringing still a subtle earth joined by a dry cocoa, sweet nuttiness and the finish going to a fire cured tobacco and dark roasted coffee bean. Burn is slow and construction flawless. The 1/2 way point comes at a slow 40 minutes with unchanged flavors, but with globs of glue on all three bands, the only negative to this point. Ending at 1:20 the last third moves to a deep coffee and dark caramel with a heavy finish adding a cream and earth, still with medium-full bodied silky smooth smoke to the nub.
