Micallef Grande Bold Ligero 554L Cigar Review – This 5.5×54 stick features a dark chocolate, dense, firmly packed oily satin wrapper with a large triple cap and faint bready wood aroma. First light reveals a flawless draw with medium bodied notes of a slightly sweet chocolate and oak with undertones of a light earth going in to the long oily finish. The first third burns flawlessly, up to a medium-full body with the same notes in addition to a malty mustiness, with a very warm full retro. The 1/2 way point comes at a slow 40 minutes with perfect burn dropping solid ash chunks, holding the same notes. The last third burns very slowly, ending at 1:45 with a surprisingly low strength kick, just giving a touch of light headedness. Flavors drop the sweetness and mustiness, going to a plain soft earth at the nub.
