Plasencia Reserva Original Cortez Cigar Review – This 5.75×56 figurado features a dark brown firmly packed wrapper with a dry, thin feeling satin texture, large pigtail cap, almost closed foot roll and a damp, sweet nutty tobacco aroma like a cigar factory. The first light reveals a flawless draw with thick plumes of mild smoke showing notes of a slight pepper, zingy wood and nutty vegetal, all through the long textured finish. The first third transitions nicely to a medium body with a soft smooth sweet caramel and leather with just a hint of pepper. Burn is fast but perfect putting out plumes of smoke. The 1/2 way point comes at 30 minutes with the burn slowing, and a muted cocoa joining the draw flavors with the nuttiness taking over the finish, dropping the pepper tingle. Ending at 55 min to the HOT nub, the last third showed no changes.
