2012 by Oscar Barber Pole Lancero Cigar Review – This 7×38 stick features a stripe of maduro and one of candella with a firm even pack, buttery soft oily feel, closed foot and pigtail cap with a sweet, zingy hay aroma. First light reveals a tight draw but good thick medium-full bodied smoke production with a sweet dry earth quickly followed by a huge pepper and spice blast ramping up through the long finish. Burn is good but exceedingly fast. The first third tempers the pepper and spice just a touch with everything else the same including the very fast burn. The draw opened up to normal and the burn is perfect dropping 1″ chunks. The last half goes to a dry cocoa and leather, with the pepper and spice tapering way off with a shorter finish, still smooth but down to medium body. Ending at 45 minutes the last bit remained the same.
