Aged Saint Luis Rey Reserve Especial Rothchilde Maduro Cigar Review – This 5×54 stick is several years old and features an oily firmly packed dark chocolate wrapper with a good amount of tooth, large double cap and milk chocolate aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with plentiful rich medium-full bodied smoke showing a smooth slightly sweet leather and building pepper and oily spice through the long finish. The first third needs a little touchup with the thick oily wrapper and binder not quite keeping up with the filler but otherwise burning well. Smoke is plentiful and flavors are a toasted caramel, sweet creamy leather and again joined by the pepper and spice through the long finish. The last 1/2 goes out with a surprising strength kick for the gate, while notes shift to a creamy cocoa, coffee and earth with the pepper and spice dying way down through the finish ending at 1 hour.
