Micallef Grande Bold Sumatra Robusto Cigar Review – This 5.25×54 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate very sharply box pressed wrapper with pronounced tooth, mottling, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and rich peppery chocolate aroma. First light reveals a great draw with thick medium bodied smoke showing notes of a bitter coffee, dry cocoa and big pepper on the long finish. The first third smokes perfectly with a great draw pushing medium-full flavors of a rich mocha – coffee and chocolate with a big pepper kick that lasts and builds on the long finish of the same. The 1/2 way point comes at 30 minutes burning perfectly dropping inch ash chunks. Flavors are still rich and complex growing smoother, mellowing the pepper and going deep down like a warm shot. Ending at 55 minutes the last third goes very hot at the nub, keeping the big body and adding an almost matching strength from the band back. Flavors are still smooth and deep with the body a bold chocolate covered espresso bean and a tiny bit of lingering pepper on the long finish.
