Cuban Cohiba Robustos Cigar Review – This 4.9×50 stick features a dark brown, firmly packed oily wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and faint peppery wood aroma. First light reveals an excellent draw with thick, rich medium bodied smoke with notes of a oily smooth earth, almost graham cracker, slight sweetness and smooth pepper just on the long finish. The first third burns very well needing just a slight touchup at the start. Body on the draw is a medium ramping up to medium-full by the end of the finish at the next draw. Core notes are a smooth sweet coffee with a light earth and pepper tingle over the tongue on the finish. The 1/2 way point comes at a slow 30 minutes for the size, replacing the coffee with the cuban twang. A slightly sweet citrus zing and dusty cocoa, that then sticks around on the medium finish, dropping most of the pepper. The last third continues to burn well, ending at 55 minutes with the only change being the generic sweetness on the draw going to a vanilla.
