Trinidad Espiritu Toro Cigar Review – This 6×54 stick features a lightly but firmly packed dark cocoa wrapper with an oily toothy feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and a barnyard & cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with medium bodied notes of an oaky pepper and spice with a short finish. The first third burns very well but quickly, dropping a solid inch ash with razor sharp lines. Flavors remain medium bodied but get longer and more complex adding a zingy nuttiness to the draw with the pepper and spice lasting to the next draw. 40 min in at the 1/2 way point the ash drops off in another solid chunk, performance is flawless and the sweetness shifts to a vanilla, keeping the other complex notes the same. Ending at 1:10 the last third gets even smoother, keeping the same complexity BUT right at the last inch a HUGE full strength rush came on like a switch.
