Protocol Blue Oscuro Toro Cigar Review – This 6×52 stick features a dark brown sandy textured wrapper with small veins, tight invisible seams, firm light pack, double cap and rich sweet cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with rich medium bodied smoke showing a sweet vegetal note and a very creamy smooth texture. The first third quickly adds a creamy coffee note but then gets rock hard and crispy at the burnline, needing a recut and relight before flavors returned, an inch shorter. The 1/2 way point comes at 20 minutes with notes the same. Ending shortly after, it needed yet another big cut down after going out again, and repeated just below the band after tasting like ashtray. Done.
