H. Upmann Hispaniola by Jose Mendez Robusto Cigar Review – This 5×50 stick features a firmly packed satin dark brown wrapper with a slightly sandy feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and faint barnyard aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful light airy mild-medium smoke showing notes of a nutty sweetness with a bit of pepper and spice on the long finish. The first third shifts to a bright sweet cream and leather with a nutty aftertaste through the finish, keeping the texture of the pepper, dropping most of the spice heat. Body is up to medium-full. The 1/2 way point comes at 35 minutes with the finish staying full, adding the leather. Ending at 1 hour to the very hot nub, the last third remained the same.
