Asylum Pandemonium Cigar Review – This monster 8.5×52 stick features a dark cocoa firmly packed wrapper with medium veins, tight invisible seams, an oily smooth feel and very faint damp cocoa aroma with a triple cap. First light reveals a good draw but requires a double puff for smoke. Notes are a mild-medium very deep earth and black pepper tingle on a long finish. The first third burns well, still requiring multiple puffs. Flavors just add a slight natural sweetness to the mix and body is up to medium. 30 minutes in the ash drops a couple inches and flavors add just a hint of chocolate to the mix. Burn is even but problematic to produce good smoke. An hour in at the start of the 2nd third, flavors change again slightly adding a touch of coffee, turning down the pepper and it gets a wee bit smoother. 2 hours in just past the 1/2 way point, flavors are at a medium-full with a shift to a straight deep heavy earth and black coffee on the long full finish. 3 hours in to the hot nub, flavors change again to a straight black coffee and touch of cocoa with a medium strength for the last 30 minutes.
