J.C. Newman Brick House Maduro Toro Cigar Review – This 6×52 stick features a dark cocoa wrapper with a dry toothy feel, firm even pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and damp musty aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with medium-full bodied notes of a dark damp earth with a spice bite and hint of umami coming through the long finish. The first third burns perfectly if bit fast, with notes going to a slightly less deep earth and the experience dominated by a sweet zingy spice through the long finish. The 1/2 way point comes at 30 minutes with a solid ash while flavors remain the same. The last third ends at 1:10 minutes as the burn slows and flavors change to a smoother, sweeter earth with a dark coffee while the spice winds down. A decent strength creeps in just below the body.
