K By Karen Berger Maduro Robusto Cigar Review – This 5×52 box pressed stick features a firmly packed, dark cocoa slightly mottled wrapper with an oily toothy feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and smoky wood aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with medium bodied smooth smoke showing notes of a heavy earth and dark cocoa with a long finish adding coffee. The first third continues the same path, adding a smooth clear nuttiness on the finish joining the rest. Draw is still on the snug side but smoking fine. The 1/2 way point comes at 35 minutes with the draw opening up, body up to a medium-full and the addition of a slight pepper and spice on just the tail end of the finish. Ending at 1:10 the last third showed no changes.
