Island Jim San Andres Cigar Review – This 6.5×52 torpedo shaped stick features a shaggy foot, open stunted cap of a lighter shade, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a light pack, oily paper bag texture and faint wet hay aroma. First light reveals a great draw with plentiful mild-medium bodied smoke showing notes of a sweet spicy cayenne, dry earth on the long finish and a bit of rough texture over the tongue. The first third shifts once it reaches wrapper and binder to include a heavier medium-full body showing a pepper bite, deep earth and thick lingering body to the next draw. The 1/2 way point comes at 25 minutes with perfect construction dropping a solid ash and no changes. Snipping off huge tarballs at the end, it lasted just over an hour with no transitions.
