Caldwell The T Lonsdale Cigar Review – This 6.5×44 box pressed stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a firm even pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap, rough tooth, slick oil sheen and pungent damp musty peppery cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with mild-medium bodied notes of a sweet pepper and spicy cocoa with a short clean finish. The first third comes up quickly to a medium body and long smooth finish. Flavors are still a strong cocoa but the sweetness goes to a dark fruit with the pepper subsiding and the oily spice growing. The 1/2 way point hits at 35 minutes with perfect construction dropping ash a couple inches at a time. Flavors transition to a subtle cocoa, coffee and leather on the draw going to a bit of pepper and deep earth through the finish. Ending at 1 hour to the hot nub the last third showed no changes.
