Henry Clay Rustic Cheroot Cigar Review – This 5 5/8×38 stick features a rustic lumpy roll with an oily satin feel, dark chocolate mottled wrapper with medium veins, tight seams, large single pigtail cap, closed foot and musty cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plumed of thick medium-full bodied smoke showing a strong coffee, dark cocoa, pepper and smooth oily smoke with a short clean slightly bitter finish. The first third burns perfectly, a bit on the fast side with the same intense flavor profile adding a longer finish and growing pepper intensity. The 1/2 way point comes quickly at 20 minutes with no changes, dropping a solid ash. Ending at 35 minutes where it got hot, the last third dropped most of the pepper and cocoa going to a deep smooth earth with a slight dark roast coffee.
