Byron Grand Poemas Reserva 5 Anos Cigar Review – This 6×56 stick features a dark brown buttery smooth firmly packed wrapper with small veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and faint soapy pepper aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with plentiful medium bodied smoke showing flavors of a very smooth creamy textured grassy sweetness with a light earth and touch of pepper zing on the short finish. The first third transitions to not only a creamy texture but a big sweet cream flavor dropping the grass going to a slick cedar, both going in to the now long finish joined by a soft pepper tingle all the way to the next draw. Burn is slow and razor sharp. 45 minutes in at the 1/2 way point the ash drops in a solid chunk while flavors only change slightly, with the sweetness getting a touch of cherry note. Ending at a long 1:20 the last third drops the sweetness going to a heavy wood, bright earth and light pepper through the finish with no strength.
