CO 1st Third Solomon Cigar Review – This 6×54 perfect sized stick features a soft silky smooth wrapper with a slight soft even pack, box press, minimal veins, tight invisible seams and a peppery cedar aroma. First light reveals a slightly loose draw with plumes of thick rich medium-full smoke output showing flavors of a deep oak, notes of cream and sweetness with a big bold pepper and slight spice on the long finish dominating. The first third swaps the oak for a nuttiness more so on the finish. The pepper blast calms just a little but is still potent. The cream drops and the cocoa remains subtle on the draw. Construction is excellent with plentiful smoke. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 35 minutes the ash drops off in a solid chunk, burn is very good, draw is perfect and flavors are largely the same with just the pepper continuing to mellow. Ending at 1:05 the last third shifts near the band point to a dark roast coffee, deep earth and the pepper coming in through the long finish.
