Opalo 1979 Robusto Cigar Review – This 5.5×50 stick may not be called the robusto, their website is non existent and the facebook page has no info. It features a dark brown firmly packed slightly toothy wrapper with a satin paper texture, small veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and faint hay aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with good medium bodied smoke output showing a bitter wood and chemical paint like long finish. The first third quickly shifts to a zingy woody core with vanilla coming in to the finish. Burn is quick but nearly razor sharp with a perfect draw. 30 minutes in at the 1/2 way point flavors are unchanged and construction is flawless, still holding a solid ash. Ending at 50 minutes the last third was unchanged.
