Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic 1979 Cigar Review – This 5×50 stick features a dark brown softly and lightly packed wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, triple cap and pungent sweet cocoa and hay aroma First light reveals a perfect draw with plumes of medium-full bodied smoke showing notes of a big oily slick sweetness followed by a pepper and earth through the long finish. The first third quickly transitions to a very simple profile of dry wood and light earth with the sweetness and most of the pepper subsiding. The 1/2 way point comes at 25 minutes just adding a hint of the sweetness back. The ash holds in a solid chunk and performance is flawless. Ending at 50 minutes to the warm nub, the last third was just the dry medium bodied wood with a lingering earth finish.
