Padron 2000 Maduro Cigar Review – this 5×50 robusto stick features a very dark chocolate almost black wrapper with a toothy, firmly packed oily wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, single cap and pungent musty cocoa aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with thick plumes of medium-full bodied flavors of a dusty dry slightly bitter earth and cocoa with a faint pepper zing on the finish. The first third quickly drops the bitterness just bringing up the finish pepper a touch keeping the heavy overall profile. Half way in at 30 minutes construction is excellent with draw flavor going to a solid milk chocolate while the finish comes on late with the slight pepper and earth. Ending at 50 minutes where it got too hot for my taste, the last third added a touch of strength to the mix with the heavy earth and small pepper mixing in to the draw as well.
