How To Calibrate Your Cigar Hygrometer With A Salt Test

I get this question frequently so here’s a quick easy how-to for doing a salt test to calibrate your cigar hygrometer.  1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon of fine salt + 1 teaspoon of water.  That’s the perfect ratio for the correct results.  Seal it up in a small container with your gauge at least overnight for 8 hours and note the reading before opening the bag.  Calibrate or note the difference from there.
