New World By AJ Fernandez Toro Cigar Review
This 6.5×55 box pressed stick features a dark brown oily slightly toothy wrapper with a soft pack, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, large double cap and pungent chocolate and hay aroma. First light reveals a great draw with plumes of full bodied smoke showing a very potent deep tobacco and peppery earth with a long thick finish adding in some campfire and spice. The first third continues much the same just bringing in more pepper at first, then a big coffee and cocoa comes in on the draw 20 minutes later. The 1/2 way point comes at a leisurely 45 minutes, dropping most of the pepper and earth, gaining a nice cream to mix with the bolder cocoa and coffee. The finish stays creamy smooth and long with just the right amount of deep pepper sticking around. Ending at 1:20 the last third shifts to a very deep black espresso, dropping the coca, cream and most of the pepper leaving that deep roasted bean through the smooth finish.
