Ave Maria Reconquista Cigar Review
This 7×54 stick comes in a coffin with a unique lifting wedge. The wrapper is a very dark chocolate, almost black with a dense firm pack, small veins, tight invisible seals, an oily slightly toothy feel and potent oily dark cocoa aroma. First light reveals a snug draw putting of decent enough medium-full smoke output with an oily sweet chocolate and earth on the draw followed by a peppery earth through the substantial finish. The first third unfortunately grows tighter, producing less smoke bringing the body down to mild-medium, while flavors get quite washed just showing a slightly sweet peppery damp earth on both the draw and finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point at 45 minutes, the draw has slowly improved – still snug but body is up to a medium with good smoke output. Burn time is great and the line is razor sharp, holding the ash more than 1/2 way through. Flavors are unchanged. Ending at just over 1 1/2 hours where flavors were still the same but the strength ramped up to full, burn was still very good and the body was quickly eclipsed. Thank you very much to viewer Bret Barber for sending this to review!
